I realize this response is to a nearly 17 year old post, but I'm curious
how you made out acquiring additional copies and/or restoring
yours to presentable condition. If you are still in need of information
regarding this map, or still need a decent copy, let me know.
My 95 year old friend (4th Cav, HQ Troop) was Col Edward Dunn's
armored car driver from June-Nov '44. In late Nov '44 he became the
driver of incoming Commanding Officer Col John MacDonald's jeep.
My friend received his copy of the map, as well as a large
commendation poster honoring the 4th Cavalry, and a detailed
history of the 7th Corps in Europe from D Day until May 8, 1945 directly
from Colonel MacDonald. All of these were printed in Germany in 1945.
Regards.
